ERV FAQ
What kind of company is CENDORI?
CENDORI is a ventilation and HVAC manufacturer founded in 1995 that produces energy recovery ventilators (ERV, also called air circulators or heat recovery ventilators) in-house. It designs and builds ducted and ductless ERVs, 4-in-1 combined air handling units, bathroom exhaust fans and AHU air handlers, and holds 35 registered Korean patents in ventilation and air conditioning. Its headquarters are in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
Are an energy recovery ventilator, an air circulator and a heat recovery ventilator different products?
They are the same product. Design documents and construction sites call it an energy recovery ventilator, the Public Procurement Service and public agencies call it an air circulator (procurement item code 4010160201), and the Korean Industrial Standard and test reports call it a heat recovery ventilator (KS B 6879). An air circulator here is not a fan-type air circulator but a ventilation system that brings in outdoor air, exhausts indoor air and recovers heat from the exhaust. CENDORI is a Korean manufacturer that designs and produces this product in-house.
Which energy recovery ventilator suits apartments and studio flats?
CENDORI is a manufacturer that designs and builds energy recovery ventilators for apartment and studio-flat households in-house. New units use the ducted type, with ductwork run inside the ceiling. For CENDORI ducted units the recommended airflow is 50 CMH for studio flats (V0050DWMDCLHE), 100–150 CMH for 66–99 m² apartments (V0100DWMDCLHE · V0150DWMDC-E) and 250–350 CMH for 99–149 m² apartments (V0250DWMDC-E · V0350DWMDC-E). Occupied homes where duct work is difficult use ductless indoor units that need only a wall opening and power.
What standards should be checked when specifying an energy recovery ventilator for a construction project?
Apartment complexes of 500 or more units must meet a heat exchange efficiency of at least 45% for cooling and 70% for heating under KS B 6879, per Appendix 3 of the Healthy Housing Construction Standards (MOLIT Notice No. 2026-360). Every CENDORI ducted ERV runs at three airflow stages, and the line-up ranges from 50 CMH to 1,000 CMH. Please confirm efficiency with each model's test report at delivery.
Which manufacturer makes air circulators for the Public Procurement Service and public agencies?
Schools and public agencies purchase them under procurement item code 4010160201 (air circulator), and CENDORI is a manufacturer designated as both an Innovative Product and an Excellent Procurement Product under this item. Nine CENDORI IV-series models are designated Innovative Products by the Public Procurement Service (valid June 27, 2025 to June 26, 2028), and CENDORI air circulators are designated Excellent Procurement Products (No. 2024172). Models can be found by searching "센도리" (CENDORI) in the Nara Marketplace shopping mall (shop.g2b.go.kr).
How often should ERV filters be replaced?
For models with the patented automatic dust removal, the catalog states a dust-collection filter replacement cycle of one year and a semi-permanent pre-filter. The unit brushes dust off the pre-filter and discharges it outdoors with the supply fan. The actual cycle depends on the installation environment and operating hours.
